Georgia Tech's 9-0 run to start the second half extended the Yellow Jackets' lead to 16 points as they cruised to a 65-45 win over Savannah State. The win was Tech's second straight and improves their record to 6-4 on the season.
Brandon Reed led all scorers with 16 points going 6-7 from the field including 2-3 from beyond-the arc. Reed also grabbed five rebounds. Daniel Miller hit all six of his shot attempts and finished with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists and four blocks. Kammeon Holsey finished with eight points and eight rebounds. Tech hit 53 percent of its shots in the game.
Savannah State had plenty of opportunities in this game attempting 60 field goals to Georgia Tech's 47 thanks to a 15-2 offensive rebound advantage for the Tigers. However Savannah State shot just 28 percent from the floor in the game thus the 20 point victory for the Yellow Jackets. Rashad Hassan and Preston Blackmon each scored 10 points for the Tigers.
