Richard Samuel Expected To Play In Outback Bowl

After missing the last five games of the regular season with an ankle injury, Georgia RB Richard Samuel is expected to play in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 2:

Richt expects TB Richard Samuel (ankle) to play in bowl. Will go full speed when team practices in Tampa. Will stay at TB next year.

Samuel, a 6'2 243 junior, rushed for 240 yards and 1 TD on 70 carries as part of the Bulldogs' tailback by committee approach this season.

However, he had the lowest yards per attempt (3.3) of the four Georgia RB's who got more than 50 carries this season, behind junior Carlton Thomas (5.1) and the freshman duo of Isaiah Crowell (4.7) and Brandon Harton (4.7).

The Bulldogs will need all of their offensive threats against Michigan State's defense, which has given up only 17.5 points a game this season, ninth best in the nation.
