Winthrop Vs. Georgia Final Score: Bulldogs Need Overtime To Defeat Eagles 92-86

Some late game heroics by senior guards Dustin Ware and Gerald Robinson forced overtime as the Bulldogs went on to defeat Winthrop by a score of 92-86 at Stegeman Coliseum.

With Winthrop leading 75-71, Dustin Ware hit a three pointer with just 9.6 seconds remaining on the clock to pull the Bulldogs to within just one point at 75-74. After a time-out, Georgia fouled Derrick Henry to stop the clock who made just one of two at the line to make the score 76-74. Gerald Robinson then took the inbounds pass and raced end-to-end and tied the game with a lay in with just over two seconds remaining. Winthrop couldn't get off a game winning attempt and the game headed into overtime.

The Bulldogs outscored the Eagles 16-10 in the extra session as the Bulldogs escaped with their eighth win of the season.

Robinson finished with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Bulldogs. Dustin Ware came off the bench to score 20 points and hand out three assists. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope finished with 18 points and six rebounds while Nemanja Djurisic chipped in a career-high 17 points and nine rebounds. Djurisic got the start in place of the injured Marcus Thornton who is out indefinitely after knee surgery.

Andre Jones scored a game-high 33 points for the Eagles who fell to 4-9 on the season.
