Auburn Vs. Virginia, 2011 Chick-Fil-A Bowl Score: Cavaliers Score First, Lead 7-0

The Virginia Cavaliers made it on the scoreboard first when quarterback Michael Rocco connected with wide receiver Kris Burd on a 27-yard touchdown pass to go up 7-0 over the Auburn Tigers. Virginia has looked like the better team and it probably has to do with being the more stable team. Auburn is without starting running back Michael Dyer and head coach Gene Chizik is doubling as defensive coordinator since Ted Roof who previously held the position took the same job at Central Florida.

The drive prior to Virginia's score saw the offense move fairly easy down the field by converting on two third downs before they had to punt the ball away.

On the scoring drive Virginia was able to make it into the endzone on only five plays. Running back Kevin Parks had a run of 23 yards to set up the 27-yard touchdown pass from Rocco to Burd to give Virginia the early lead.
