Georgia grabbed the lead early against Tennessee and hasn't let go leading 33-25 at the half. Now the hard part begins. The Vols will undoubtedly make a run and Georgia will have to stand up and turn them back. In recent losses to Xavier and Vanderbilt, the Bulldogs have suffered through lapses in the second half where they have been unable to execute offensively enough to get a decent shot.
Execution hasn't been an issue thus far today as Georgia has gotten a number of good looks and has been knocking them down. Travis Leslie leads a balanced scoring attack for the Bulldogs with nine points. Eight different players have scored for the Bulldogs who shot 52% in the first half.
Scotty Hopson has done his part at keeping Tennessee in the game scoring 11 points in the first half. Georgia has made things difficult on the Vols forcing them out of the paint and into long jump shots. The Vols shot just 28% in the first half but thanks to six offensive rebounds and eight Bulldog turnovers only find themselves down eight points at the half.
Georgia holds a 22-16 rebounding advantage but Tennessee grabbed a couple of offensive rebounds late which enabled them to narrow the lead. Rebounding has been another part of Georgia's struggles in recent games and will play a huge factor as to whether or not they can hold onto this lead in Knoxville.
