Amarlo Herrera Joins Georgia Football On National Signing Day

Amarlo Herrera became the 11th player to fax his letter of intent to Georgia this morning. Herrera is a four-star linebacker out of North Clayton High School in Georgia. Herrera selected Georgia over Auburn, Florida, and Georgia Tech while having offers from at least seven other schools. Herrera committed to the Bulldogs last February and stuck with the commitment all the way through his senior season. Rivals ranks Herrera as the No. 17 player in the state of Georgia.

“He already knew I was going to do it so it wasn’t much of a surprise,” “I had made my decision a while ago because I always wanted to go to Georgia. I said if they offered me I was going to go with them. This just made it official.”

The 6-foot-2 215-pound linebacker said that one of the big reasons he selected Georgia was due to defensive coordinator Todd Grantham and the 3-4 defense that is now employed by the team.

“I like the 3-4,” Herrera said. “We already run it in high school, so it should be an easy transition for me.”
