Kent Turene To Georgia Over Texas Tech, Isaiah Crowell Next

UPDATE: If you're looking for Isaiah Crowell news: yes, he signed with the Dawgs, as did his puppy.

Florida ILB Kent Turene, a longtime USC commit who re-opened his recruitment shortly before national signing day, has announced he’ll join the Georgia Bulldogs, not the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Early rumors had him signing with Texas Tech, and he reportedly entered his announcement ceremony wearing a Red Raiders hat, but he pulled out the hurr durr gotcha move by signing with the Dawgs, always a nice stunt to pull on a school that offered a four-year education. /rant

His announcement was supposed to come at 10 am ET, but was significantly delayed. Perhaps he didn’t want to share airtime with Antonio Richardson, who announced Tennessee over Georgia at about 10:15 am.

A three-star with dozens of FBS offers, the six-foot-three, 230-pounder is ranked as the nation’s No. 18 ILB and Florida’s No. 52 player.

That’s one big hit in three swings for Georgia today. Next up for the Dawgs: Isaiah Crowell at 1:30 pm ET on ESPNU. Yes, that means it’s OK to take a lunch break. We’ll find out soon whether the Dream Team is a major success or just a pretty good class, at least in the eyes of the public.
