2011 Accenture Match Play Results: Matt Kuchar And Bubba Watson Both Advance To Semifinals

Former Yellow Jacket Matt Kuchar defeated Y.E. Yang 2 and 1 this morning to advance to the semifinals of the 2011 Accenture Match Play Championships. He will face England's Luke Donald, who dispatched Ryan Moore with an easy 5 and 4 victory. Kuchar took a big lead on the front nine, winning four out of five holes to go 4-up through the 8th hole. Yang won two holes on the back nine, but the pair split the remainder to give Kuchar the 2 and 1 win.

As of this publishing, Donald is 1-up through 3 holes.

Former Bulldog Bubba Watson had a huge comeback in a dramatic victory over J.B. Holmes to advance to the semifinals as well. Holmes held a commanding lead up by five holes through the 10th before Watson strung together an incredible back nine. He managed to narrow the lead down to just one with three holes remaining, and then tied it up on the 18th to send the match to an extra frame. It only took him one extra hole to get the victory.

Watson faces Martin Kaymer in his semifinal matchup this afternoon.
