Scheduled to workout with his fellow defensive linemen on Monday, Marcell Dareus answered questions from the 2011 NFL Combine media on Saturday. He touts the versatility he learned in Nick Saban's defense at Alabama, saying he feels equipped to play either nose tackle or defensive tackle in the NFL. He's asked about his favorite player, and immediately cites Warren Sapp's on-field and off-field presence.
Dareus is expected to be a top-10 draft pick. Watch him light up for about half a minute when he's told Sapp called him the best three-technique tackle in this year's draft class:
There's a lot of Saban all throughout there, from hand placement technique to X's and O's. He also apologizes for his receiving of $1,800 in impermissible benefits that led to him being suspended for two games.
And am I the only one who thinks Craig Robinson from The Office should play Marcell Dareus in the eventual story of Nick Saban's life?
