Sure, Auburn's gotten better over the last third of the regular season, but it's not like they could've gotten any worse. We're talking about a team that almost lost to Georgia Southern, which should be about as embarrassing as actually losing to Georgia Southern in football.
↵The Dawgs can assure themselves beyond all doubt of a March Madness bid by beating Auburn and Alabama in succession, though they're still a strong consideration minus a Bama win. I wasn't born a Georgia fan, so I haven't acquired the natural frettiness that accompanies such a distinction. But seriously. Auburn, guys.
↵Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Virginia Tech Hokies, 9, WATL: Paul Hewitt could gain a measure of job security with a run like last year's, when his Jackets tore within a few minutes of an ACC title against Duke. First things first: knocking rival Virginia Tech out of both the ACC and NCAA tournaments. All-ACC second-teamer Iman Shumpert takes on first-teamer Malcolm Delaney in the conference's matchup of the night.
↵As for the White and Gold's tourney chances, it's ACC crown or bust, in case you haven't been paying attention. A perennial bubble team, the Hokies will take this one seriously, but you never know what to make of Tech basketball. And I don't mean that colloquially. You never know.
