SEC Basketball Tournament 2011 Bracket Update: Florida Advances 85-74 Over Tennessee

Florida pulls out a 85-74 victory over Tennessee in a back and forth game that saw both teams build solid leads only to have their opponent answer. Florida grabbed an early lead before Tennessee came roaring ahead to lead by five at the half. Florida dug in and assumed the lead for good at the 11:55 mark in the second half and never really looked back.

Kenny Boynton scored 22 points for the Gators who had five different players in double figures. Vernon Macklin added 15 points while Chandler Parsons had 12.

For Tennessee Tobias Harris had another strong game with 25 points and eight rebounds. Scotty Hopson added 19 but had another tough shooting night going 6-14 from the field.

Florida advances into the semifinals where they will face the winner of the Vanderbilt, Mississippi State match-up later tonight.
