Kevin Ware Requests To Leave Tennessee Basketball After Bruce Pearl Firing

Kevin Ware, one of Tennessee basketball's only two 2011 recruits and one of the best players in the country, has said he'll attempt to leave the program after Mike Hamilton fired Bruce Pearl Monday. He also says Hamilton had previously assured him on March 6 that Pearl would not be fired -- that mysterious March 2011 violation must have come after March 6 then, huh?

Six-foot-four, four-star Ward is Rivals' No. 56 player in the country and the nation's No. 14 shooting guard. He'd only been recruited by Tennessee, Georgetown, Miami, and Florida before signing with the Vols.

While just about anything that's bad for Tennessee is also good for Georgia, this one could go to another level. Ware is from Conyers, playing his high school ball at Rockdale County and AAU for the Atlanta Celtics. With Georgia Tech also going through a coaching change, could Mark Fox decide to carve out time to pay Ward a visit?

Dawg Sports thinks UT's fall will benefit UGA in recruiting -- now could be the time to put that theory into action.
