Trey Thompkins, Marcus Thornton Will Play For Georgia Against Alabama, According To Report

The Athens Banner-Herald’s Marc Weiszer reports Georgia Bulldogs star Trey Thompkins will play today against the Alabama Crimson Tide, albeit with some sort of protective covering on his shoe. Weiszer also reports Marcus Thornton will play after missing the LSU Tigers game with a cut elbow.

Thompkins was going to be a game-time decision due to a toe nail injury, but Thornton’s participation is pleasant surprise. While there’s no guarantee he’ll start or play significant minutes, having him on the floor before game time is at least a good sign for the progression of his injury as the SEC Tournament nears.

And if he can go today, then great, as Mark Fox will be happy to present his best possible front court rotation against JayMychal Green and Tony Mitchell.

For more on this game, Dawgs fans should join Dawg Sports, while Bama fans should head to Roll Bama Roll. Those two are sort of hard to confuse with each other.
