The 2011 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Boise St. Broncos has a time and channel now: Sept. 3 at 8 pm ET on ESPN. Each of the previous three games has been featured on ABC and drawn College GameDay, but Washington State flags will probably head for Arlington, where LSU will meet Oregon at the same time for some reason.
A nationally televised game against a top-10 opponent will give UGA a chance to immediately clarify whether this year will mean a return to Mark Richt’s form or 2010 all over again. Though the Dawgs will have home field advantage, so did Virginia Tech last year.
Gary Stokan, Chick-fil-A Bowl president and CEO, on the matchup:
With Boise State coming in as the winningest team in the nation over the last 10 years and Georgia delivering one of the strongest recruiting classes in the country, this really is a compelling match-up.
