Liberals Love Cool Paul Johnson

Via Blutarsky, a pile of polling data by Public Policy Polling on Georgia sports fandom. While there's plenty of interesting stuff in there -- Bobby Cox may be the most popular man in Peach State history, the state boasts three times as many Georgia Bulldogs fans as Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fans, Barack Obama voters strongly objected to Paul Hewitt's firing, and so forth -- one really jumped out at me:

The more politically liberal a sports fan is, the more they approve of Paul Johnson. Considering his offense, media persona, recruiting preferences, and so forth, that doesn't make any sense to me at all. Guess it could be that they're not cutting it by fandom, so this table includes Georgia fans, who tend to be more politically conservative than Jackets fans based on -- come on, you didn't need a poll to tell you that.

Then again, not sure what UGA fans would dislike about Johnson's performance anyway, other than the second half of the 2008 game.
