Deion Bonner To Be Suspended By Carver High Coach Dell McGee After UGA Theft Arrest

Deion Bonner, the biggest name among the three young men allegedly involved in the heist of iPods and iPhones from the Georgia Bulldogs football locker room on April 7, will be suspended at least five games in the 2011 Carver High season, coach Dell McGee tells the Athens Banner-Herald’s Marc Weiszer. The other two players — Marquise Watkins and an unnamed youth — will receive the same punishment.

McGee also says he expects the other schools recruiting Bonner to proceed, albeit with caution, though he acknowledges Bonner’s chances of being offered a UGA scholarship have likely vanished.

The best part of this story has been reading Auburn and Florida fans merrily reciting “THUGA!”, as if they aren’t aware Bonner was being recruited by half the SEC and is not actually a Georgia football player. Carry on!
