After ABC/ESPN elected to schedule both the Georgia Bulldogs' 2011 Chick-fil-A College Kickoff and the LSU Tigers-Oregon Ducks showdown in Texas for the exact same time slot on the same night, the only people more upset than UGA and Boise St. Broncos fans had to have been the Chick-fil-A football people.
While Dawgs and Broncos fans are going to miss out on most of what should be the out-of-conference game of the regular season, the Georgia Dome is going to needlessly play second fiddle to a younger annual game.
So I don't blame Chick-fil-A at all for touting their 7:30 pm ET, Dec. 31 time slot on ESPN as "unopposed." It's nice to be able to schedule a marquee extra-conference college football game without Jerry Jones stampeding all over it, isn't it?
I'll tell you one other thing that's unopposed: the Chick-fil-A nanner puddin' milkshake. Step to it and see what happens.
