The Texas A&M women's basketball program won it's first-ever NCAA championship Tuesday night, beating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 76-70 in Indianapolis. A&M's traditionally harsh defense wasn't able to shut down Lil Wayne love interest Skylar Diggins for the night, as she was able to score 23 total, but Danielle Adams owned the paint, powering her way to 30 points and nine rebounds.
↵Considering A&M was able to take the national title, the Georgia Bulldogs' 79-38 shortfalling doesn't seem all that bad. Texas A&M's confounding, stress-inducing defense only allowed Stanford and Notre Dame to cross 50 points during the schools entire tourney run, so struggling to put up offense against it isn't really all that embarrassing after all.
↵Kind of like the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers, I guess. If you're going to get crushed, it better be by the best team in the country, right?
