The Georgia Bulldogs continued their brief upset run through the 2011 SEC baseball tournament with a 4-3 Saturday victory over the No. 3 seed Florida Gators. They'll need to beat Florida again shortly, with a second game between the two scheduled for 5:45 pm ET -- if the Dawgs can take that victory, they'll advance to meet the Vanderbilt Commodores in Sunday's championship game.
UGA has a very strong case to make for a NCAA trip after downing the Gators.
Georgia and Florida tied at two runs each after the first inning, but it was the third inning that made the difference for the Bulldogs. Zach Cone achieved two hits, two RBI and no strikeouts.
Florida starter Brian Johnson was knocked out early on by a sharp throw from catcher Mike Zunino, who was attempting to pick off a runner at second base. He regained consciousness and was taken to a nearby hospital.
