The Baylor Bears have eliminated the Georgia Bulldogs from the 2011 NCAA postseason, advancing to the Women's College World Series after taking a 9-2 Game 3 from the Dawgs.
Baylor tore out to a 5-0 early lead that sent Morgan Montemayor to the dugout ahead of schedule. Erin Arevalo took over and held Baylor scoreless as Georgia pulled within three by the fourth inning. That lasted until a fifth inning Baylor explosion that included Sydney Wilson socking just her second home run of the season. Baylor starter Whitney Canion avenged UGA's Game 2 outburst by jolting a homer of her own in the sixth, and that was about that.
The rest of the WCWS field, in order of seed: Alabama, Arizona State, Florida, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and California. The other spot could go to either Missouri or Washington -- those two will wrap up their series later Sunday.
