Jim Tressel Resigning With One* Bowl Win Over The SEC

The Ohio St. Buckeyes will reportedly announce the resignation of coach Jim Tressel later this Memorial Day morning, so let's remember one of our favorite things about him: his consistent upholding of that most cherished Ohio State tradition, losing to the SEC in bowl games.

In the 2007 and 2006 national title games, the Buckeyes were trounced by the LSU Tigers and Florida Gators respectively, the latter of which was supposed to be a cakewalk for the Big Ten champs. And in Tressel's first season on the job in Columbus, his squad lost their second-straight bowl game to the South Carolina Gamecocks, but at least that one was much closer than the previous.

* Though he mustered a victory over Bobby Petrino's Arkansas Razorbacks in the 2010 Sugar Bowl, that game is still very much in question considering the multiple looming scandals still awaiting tOSU. And we do mean "multiple." Plus, is it really so bad if Petrino has to remain the only SEC coach to ever lose to Ohio State in a big game?
