2011 Heisman Trophy Odds: Marcus Lattimore Close Behind Andrew Luck, Aaron Murray A Longshot

More pre-pre-preseason college football gamblin' -- the Golden Nugget has posted its Heisman Trophy odds, topped of course by Stanford Cardinal QB Andrew Luck (9/2), the lucky future quarterback of the Carolina Panthers. Landry Jones, QB of the likely No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners, comes in second (13/2), with the SEC led by South Carolina Gamecocks RB Marcus Lattimore (7/1).

Strange that Lattimore's odds are so far beyond Aaron Murray's (55/1)?

Both posted impressive freshman seasons and play in the same division. Murray, however, has already lost multiple offensive lineman and his best weapon. Then again, UGA's schedule looks very favorable, with only three games outside of state borders. Oh, come on ... Jacksonville is basically Georgia. All right, we'll call it three and a half.

Other SEC players with strong odds: Alabama Crimson Tide RB Trent Richardson (12/1), Arkansas Razorbacks RB Knile Davis (15/1) and LSU Tigers WR Russell Davis (50/1). As usual, the big names come from the Pac-12 and Big 12, conferences that turn out lots of really great stats.
