Danny Wuerffel's Illness, Diagnosed By SB Nation's Medical Expert

Resident SB Nation doctor Ali Mohamadi has weighed in on the likely condition of Florida Gators great Danny Wuerffel in light of the Heisman Trophy winner's hospitalization for Guillain-Barre Syndrome. The report continues the good news for those concerned about Wuerrfel's health and chance of recovery.

The analysis has all the details on GBS you could ever ask for, but here's part of Mohamadi's conclusion on Wuerffel:

In total, 70-80 percent of those who dedicate themselves to the demanding rehab process experience a complete recovery, with age being the most important prognostic factor overall: children and the elderly are far more likely to experience permanent deficits than young adults.

Mohamadi says rehab will involve intense physical training, something for which the former NFL quarterback should be prepared.
