The conclusion of the Florida-Vanderbilt game that was suspended yesterday went pretty much like the beginning had. Florida took a 3-0 lead on a home run from Preston Tucker, and their bullpen made that stand up today. With a rain delay, the onus always comes down to the bullpens, and both performed admirably. But because Florida had the lead coming in, they walk away with the win. Because this is the winner's bracket however, Vanderbilt is still alive, and still has a shot at the Championship.
Even though Florida's starter performed admirably yesterday, the star of the game has to be Steven Rodriguez. Rodriguez pitched in relief yesterday, then came right back today and picked up where he left off this morning. In total, he went 4.1 innings without allowing a run and striking out seven. He actually gets the win in this game.
