South Carolina Vs. Virginia Score: After Rain Delay, Gamecocks Dart To Early Lead

The College World Series winners bracket matchup between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Virginia Cavaliers was delayed for over an hour due to Omaha's insistent weather, but once it started ... well, it really started, for Carolina at least. The defending champs ran out to a 3-0 lead on the Hoos, with Jackie Bradley Jr., Adrian Morales and Brady Thomas providing consecutive RBI.

Virginia put a man on base after John Barr accepted a walk, but Colby Holmes fanned Stephen Proscia to escape the minor difficulty.

So far, the winner in all but one game has been the team located closest to Atlanta. Early returns in the Tuesday night main event suggest nothing otherwise should be expected. Loser gets Cal, while the winner gets a few days off, by the way.
