The Vanderbilt Commodores will advance to take on the Florida Gators yet again, dispatching the North Carolina Tar Heels 5-1 in the Wednesday night losers bracket matchup. The SEC improves to 5-0 against non-SEC teams, with the conference's only loss being Vandy's toppling at the hands of the Gators.
Let's call it the College World SECries. Or let's not. No, you know what, let's.
Vandy tore out to a 4-0 lead at the end of the second and a 5-0 lead after the third, any of which would've been good enough to weather UNC's eventual awakening. Taylor Hill earns the victory for throwing seven innings and allowing only four hits, while Greg Holt suffered through two and two-thirds innings and giving up all five Commodores scores.
