Florida Gators pitcher Hutson Randall started off what's expected to be a low-scoring College World Series final with a pair of strikeouts, with South Carolina Gamecocks Scott Wingo and Jackie Bradley Jr. going down swinging. Christian Walker, who's playing with a broken wrist, broke up the no-hitter with a double to right field, but Brady Thomas grounded out to Randall to end the frame.
Forrest Koumas took the mound for the Cocks and failed to bean a single batter. He's got time to top his impressive triple-beaning in his first meeting against Florida, but I'm a little nervous already. He did force Nolan Fontana to pop deep to center before Bryson Smith poked one down the third base line to reach first.
Dangerous bat Preston Tucker popped out into the very deep warning track. Smith attempted to steal second, but was gunned down by Robert Beary to conclude the inning.
