Florida, South Carolina Baseball To 11th Inning In CWS Final Game 1

It's gonna take more than 18 innings to figure out who's got the best baseball team in the SEC East. After a 1-1 regulation contest, the South Carolina Gamecocks and Florida Gators took their 2011 CWS championship opener to extra frames.

Carolina put Jake Williams and Robert Beary on base in the top of the 10th with Nick Maronde pitching, but the threat fizzled out.

John Taylor remained on the hill for Carolina. Florida quickly counted in the bottom of the 10th, with Cody Dent reaching first after a chopper up the right side. Nolan Fontana successfully bunted Dent along before Mike Zunino pounded a base hit that sent Dent home from second -- but Jake Williams gunned him down from left field. To 11!
