Another day, another Georgia Bulldogs player on a college football award watch list. Brandon Boykin adds his name to yet another, joining 36 other players on the Jim Thorpe Award list, which goes to the nation's best defensive back. The SEC leads the way with 10, followed by the ACC's seven.
Both Alabama and Florida State have multiple representatives, while Tennessee probably would've if Janzen Jackson had been able to return to active duty sooner.
Next up is the Lombardi Award, which is supposed to go to the nation's best OL, DL or LB but pretty much never goes to an OL. Georgia's run of watch list appearances is hitting questionable territory. Ben Jones or Cordy Glenn could keep the streak alive, but I'm not sure which UGA front-seven defender has earned that kind of national attention.
This is the most important thing in the world.
