Georgia Bulldogs football's 2012 recruiting class could get a big boost this weekend, even if only one player joins. Friday night is Dawg Night in Athens, which means quite a few widely sought prospects will be in the house for camp drills. The biggest target: Jacksonville five-star John Theus, the nation's No. 2 offensive tackle.
Theus has narrowed his list to Georgia, Florida and Texas. The Dawgs have a little bit of history on their side, as Theus' brother Nathan Theus committed during last year's Dawg Night, along with fellow OL Zach DeBell. Both followed through and signed with Georgia. Also in attendance last year: Isaiah Crowell, along with Auburn signee Gabe Wright, FSU's James Wilder and a guy named Deion Bonner you might remember.
UGA fans have high hopes Theus will join his brother. As multiple likely depth players have been whittled off the line this offseason, a player like Theus might see a chance to contribute earlier in Georgia than he would elsewhere.
Also attending Friday night, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: Jordan Jenkins, Kenderius Whitehead, Reuben Foster, Brice Ramsey, Derrick Henry, Tramel Terry, Will Redmond and Roshaun Milline, among others.
