Nerlens Noel recorded a triple double while leading his BABC club to a 74-60 victory over the Oakland Soldiers and into tonight's championship game against Memphis. The 6-foot-10 center from Everett Massachusetts came up with 12 points, 10 rebounds and an astounding 11 blocked shots in the victory.
BABC jumped out to a 9-0 lead to start the game and cruised into the half up 34-21. Oakland played them even in the second half but couldn't overcome the slow start with Noel effectively closing off the paint. BABC got 18 points from Georges Niang and 17 from Jalen Brantley. Rene Castro finished with 12 points and seven assists.
The Soldiers got 13 points apiece from Aaron Gordon and Isaac Hamilton. Brandon Ashley netted 10 to round out the Oakland scorers in double figures.
With the victory, BABC advances to the championship game where they will take on Memphis YOMCA in the finals. Tip off for the championship is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPNU.
