Nike Peach Jam 2011: Nerlens Noel Leads BABC To Tournament Championship

Nerlens Noel finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocks while helping lead BABC of Massachusetts to the EYBL championship at the Nike Peach Jam with a 84-67 victory over Memphis YOMCA. Jaylen Brantley led the way for BABC with 24 points while Georges Niang, an Iowa State commit, pounded Memphis inside with 21 points.

Memphis couldn't overcome the slowed pace and defensive pressure of BABC. Their game plan was to play a deliberate style of basketball while encouraging Memphis to take jump shots from the outside. If a player did penetrate into the paint they found Noel waiting for them at the rim.

Anthlon Bell led the way for Memphis with 16 points while Jarnell Stokes and Martavious Newby each finished with 14 points. Shaq Goodwin was saddled with foul trouble early but found the going tough inside against Noel. Goodwin would finish with 10 points but was hardly a factor in the game.
