UGA, Georgia Tech Put Players On Outland Watch List, Plus More Brandon Boykin

Friday's two college football award watch list unveilings continued the Georgia Bulldogs impressive* streak of placing at least one player on each list, a feat no other school in the country has been able to match. Also, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are finally on the board.

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which goes to the best defensive player and is totally not the same thing as the Bednarik Award, has its eye on Georgia CB Brandon Boykin. If Boykin is able to win the trophy, he'll get to hang out with Mark Richt one more time, as the UGA coach is the presentation ceremony's keynote speaker. The SEC leads the way with 19 players on the Nagurski list.

The Outland Trophy watch list, which aims to include the nation's best interior linemen, includes Georgia Tech's Omoregie Uzzi, but -- dagnabbit! -- those Dawgs again top their state rivals, putting both Ben Jones and Cordy Glenn on the list. The SEC falls behind the Big Ten here, with only 11 players.

Next up: the Jim Thorpe defensive backs award, which will certainly continue Georgia's streak.
