The Associated Press Top 25 is out. If you're excited about this, please let it be only because this is yet another sign that the college football season is bearing down on us. That's about the only part of this news worth getting worked up about. Nobody's listening to me.
The Georgia Bulldogs find themselves slotted No. 19 and are the only ranked team to have had a losing season in 2010. Their opening week opponent, the Boise St. Broncos, show up at No. 5.
Eight total SEC teams make the cut, a new AP record for a single conference. The Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Arkansas Razorbacks, Mississippi St. Bulldogs, Florida Gators and Auburn Tigers join Georgia. Future SEC team Texas A&M also makes the top 10, and, if I had my way, the West Virginia Mountaineers would count towards the SEC's total, but, again, nobody cares.
