After the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the LSU Tigers in the National Championship Game on Monday night, the NCAA football season had, at long last, officially come to an end. On Tuesday, however, there was still one final bit of business to attend to, in the form of the final college football rankings. One of those ranking systems is the official BCS standings.
The final BCS Standings aren't out yet, but heading into bowl season, the official BCS standings, courtesy of ESPN and the BCS, had the Georgia Bulldogs placed at No. 16, just missing the top 15 by being placed behind Clemson with a .4119 BCS average to Clemson's .4218. The No. 16 placing is the best ranking for the school in any of the three major ranking systems.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were shut out of the Top 25 in the final BCS standings, failing to make any of the final Top 25 national rankings.
