The Duke Blue Devils escaped with their lives as several clutch free throws by Seth Curry and Ryan Kelly helped the boys from Durham defeat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 81-74 in Phillips Arena.

Glen Rice Jr. put up a valiant effort against a tough Duke defense as his 28 points and 8 rebounds helped keep Brian Gregory's Yellow Jackets in the game throughout the afternoon. Mfon Udofia and Jason Morris also chipped in, with 18 and 11 points, respectfully.

For Kelly, his 14-for-14 performance from the free throw line helped him eclipse is career high with a 21 points. Seth Curry had 15 points and freshman Quinn Cook also added 10 points.

The Yellow Jackets are now 7-8 on the season and this was their first loss in conference play, yet this loss could be a confidence builder, knowing that they competed tough versus the potential conference champion. Georgia Tech will face North Carolina State on Tuesday in Raleigh.
