Dalvin Tomlinson, the No. 11 rated defensive end and 149th best recruit in the nation according to Rivals, has committed to Alabama, announcing the news on "Good Day Atlanta" on local affiliate Fox 5 on National Signing Day 2012. Tomlinson, who played for Henry County High School in McDonough, Georgia, chose Alabama over Georgia and Georgia, the two other finalists for his services.
Tomlinson is a 6-foot-2, 270 lb. defensive end who went through the final stages of the recruiting process while also focusing on a winning a third straight high school wrestling title for Henry County. He joins an Alabama class that's expected to finish the day as the nation's top class by consensus.
According to SB Nation's Bud Elliot, Tomlinson will fit instantly with Nick Saban's defensive scheme:
Tomlinson is not only one of the top players in Georgia, but one of the top defensive ends in the country. At 6'3" and 270 pounds, he is uniquely suited to play in the 3-4 defense run by his three top suitors -- Georgia Tech, Georgia and Alabama. Tomlinson is rated four stars by most of the major recruiting services.
