Palm Beach Gardens' Avery Young, the nation's No. 9 offensive tackle according to Rivals and a consensus five- or four-star prospect, announced his choice of the Auburn Tigers over the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes on National Signing Day. He would've been the last recruit to announce a commitment to UGA on Wednesday, with no more relevant announcements expected.
Young stands six-foot-six and weighs 273 pounds, boasting offers from much of the SEC, ACC and Big 12. With five-star tackle John Theus officially signed on, this had the chance to turn into a fine offensive line class for the Dawgs, but Auburn swipes another one.
When asked by ESPNU about his college choice, Young said he's enjoyed the process of taking visits with his family. He placed a blue and orange visor over his braids, announcing, "War Eagle, baby."
This one could sting for a while, as Young had at one point been listed among Georgia's roster bios on its official web site.
