Josh Harvey-Clemons Status Update Unlikely To Come Before Thursday

After Josh Harvey-Clemons committed to the Georgia Bulldogs on national TV earlier on Wednesday, his grandfather and legal guardian Woodrow Clemons isn't quite ready to sign. Harvey-Clemons, ranked as Georgia's No. 1 overall prospect as a linebacker, will look to get his grandfather's blessing soon.

When Harvey-Clemons uncle, Roy Hart, was asked if the senior Clemons wanted Josh to sign somewhere else the uncle didn't have a great response. "Oh, I … (long pause) I don’t know. I would be speculating." Was the family surprised that Josh picked up the UGA hat? "I think a lot of us were surprised."

Mark Richt evidently thinks that the linebacker is locked into coming to Athens, as he spoke about the signing on ESPNU's live broadcast. Yet, as it stands currently there is no letter of intent for the linebacker Harvey-Clemons.

Its possible that Richt committed an NCAA violation as he spoke about a recruit before he's actually signed. Also, the Clemons family have been unable to get in contact with Woodrow this afternoon, thus delaying the signing even further. We'll keep you posted as we learn more.
