The Georgia Bulldogs have done a solid job of keeping talent coming into Athens, though they've also had to deal with plenty of attrition, as evidenced most recently by three Dream Teamers likely heading to JUCOs. As we look ahead to next year's recruiting class, here's a glance at the position groups the Dawgs will need to resupply. The number of departing players at each group, counting rising seniors and booted players:
93 | Abry Jones | DE | |
18 | Bacarri Rambo | FS | |
1 | Branden Smith | CB | |
30 | Carlton Thomas | TB | |
45 | Christian Robinson | ILB
83 | Cornelius Washington | OLB
24 | Jamel Allen | OLB | |
99 | Jamie Lindley | K | |
6 | John Jenkins | NG | |
15 | Marlon Brown | SE | |
35 | Michael Gilliard | ILB
17 | Rantavious Wooten | FLK
22 | Richard Samuel IV | RB | |
88 | Ricky Lowe | OLB | |
19 | Sanders Commings | CB | |
91 | Scott Eichler | PK | |
36 | Shawn Williams | SS | |
12 | Tavarres King | FLK | |
80 | Taylor Bradberry | FLK
69 | Ty Frix | SN |
That won't necessarily be all, as QB Aaron Murray, LB Jarvis Jones and DE Kwame Geathers are among the rising juniors who could find themselves highly regarded by NFL scouts. Plus we shouldn't be surprised to see at least one more player add himself to the outgoing list for reasons other than NFL Draft early entry, so to speak.
