The Auburn Tigers already added former Georgia defensive coordinator Brian Van Gorder and appear to be on the verge of adding another former UGA defensive coordinator in Willie Martinez.
RT @BTNTomDienhart: A former Auburn staffer confirmed to me that it's a done deal: Willie Martinez is joining the AU staff.

Some Georgia fans cringe at the thought of Martinez's tenure as defensive coordinator but he was a solid defensive backs coach for the Bulldogs from 2001-2005 before replacing Van Gorder. Lately Martinez has been the defensive backs coach at Oklahoma before stepping down from that post in early January.
From 2001-2004 with Van Gorder and Martinez running the defense, Georgia was 42-10 and captured an SEC title and a Sugar Bowl win during the 2002 season. Martinez took over the defense in 2005 but never could completely replicate the attacking style that Van Gorder used while at Georgia.
