Former Georgia Player Thomas Brown Leaves UGA Staff For UT-Chattanooga

Thomas Brown left the field as a player for the University of Georgia just five years ago, but is already beginning his college coaching career. The former UGA running back will leave his current position as a strength and conditioning assistant for the Bulldogs to become the running backs coach at Tennessee-Chattanooga, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.

Brown will officially be announced by UTC on Wednesday, according to the report. Brown joined the UGA staff last winter after ending a brief NFL career with the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons. He rushed for 2,646 yards and 23 touchdowns from 2004 to 2007, and was drafted in the sixth round by the Falcons in 2008. He spent his time in Atlanta on the injured reserve list before being cut and landing with the Browns.
