Georgia Bulldogs cornerback Branden Smith has been arrested for possession of marijuana by Henry County, Ala., law enforcement, a website called Ricky Stokes News was the first to report. The AJ-C later confirmed the news.
Smith is the second likely starting UGA defensive back to be arrested already this offseason, and spring ball isn't even over yet. Sanders Commings has been suspended two games for allegedly striking a female.
According to the police report, an officer smelled marijuana after pulling over Smith during a traffic stop.
Smith finished fifth among Georgia defensive backs in tackles last year, also assisting on kick returns, punt returns, and even as a spot wide receiver. Perhaps Malcolm Mitchell would like to tack on a few more duties as he tries out some cornerback this spring?
