The Georgia Bulldogs completed their second day of spring practice on Tuesday and for the second straight day Ray Drew was working at defensive end instead of his normal outside linebacker spot. From the sounds of things, the move might not be an experiment as Drew is preparing to add weight to be better suited for playing on the defensive line.
"Since I'm going to be playing there no matter what, I would like to put on the weight so that I can hold my own whenever I'm down there. When you get down there closer to the center, you have to be a man to play in the trenches."
Drew was a heralded member of the "Dream Team" recruiting class of 2011 but didn't get that much regular playing time during his freshman season as an outside linebacker. A position switch for Drew could give the Bulldogs another dynamic option as a rusher to go along with a talented linebacker unit. The more playmakers they can get on the field the better.
