The Georgia Bulldogs practiced for the first time this spring in full-pads on Saturday in what was by all accounts a very competitive practice.
So spirited that there was a reported fight between running back Isaiah Crowell and linebacker Alec Ogletree. The defense reportedly held the advantage over the offense again which is to be expected given the depth of returners on that side of the ball. Its conditions like these that linebacker Jarvis Jones says will help the offensive unit once the season begins.
"Our defense being much older than our offense right now, especially up front, our offense is grinding it out. We're making plays. They're getting a bit frustrated. That's what we want. We want to put them in situations, so they can learn and they can improve in those situations."
The offense is working in some newcomers along the offensive front and also has a new starter at tight end. Another key weapon, Malcolm Mitchell is working exclusively on defense this spring in an effort to get acclimated to the cornerback position.
The Bulldogs will continue practice on Tuesday after taking both Sunday and Monday off.
