The University of Georgia will now be without four defensive players, all projected to be starters, for the start of the 2012 football season.
The Columbus (Ga.) Ledger-Enquirer is reporting that safety Bacarri Rambo and linebacker Alec Ogletree are set to be suspended, with Rambo out for four games for his second violation of the UGA athletics drug policy, according to a source. Ogletree is set to be suspended for a violation of athletic department policies, according to the story, with no specific amount of games set.
The suspensions continue an offseason of trouble for the UGA defense. Projected starting corner Sanders Commings is suspended for the first two games of the 2012 season for a domestic dispute charge, while corner Branden Smith is awaiting his punishment for a marijuana possession arrest. Three other underclassmen were dismissed for their roles in a dormitory theft earlier in the offseason.
