Mark Richt Doesn't Confirm Suspensions, UGA Issues Statement

Mark Richt met with the media Thursday evening following the Bulldogs' spring practice but kept quiet on any potential suspensions to defensive standouts Bacarri Rambo and Alec Ogletree. Before the media session began, UGA and Richt issued a statement regarding team guidelines and policies.

"There is a process we follow regarding team guidelines and policies," the statement from Richt said. "I cannot make any comment until that process has run its course."

That statement didn't deter the reporters on hand who asked right away whether or not Richt could confirm the suspensions. To which Richt replied:

"I can't confirm anything," he said. "I'm just going to be waiting for us to go through our process. When there's something to report, I'll report it to everybody."

According to reports, Bacarri Rambo is appealing a four-game suspension for a failed drug test and Alec Ogletree is facing a two game ban. Reports also suggest that others may also be involved.

The Bulldogs are already facing major issues with their defensive unit with starting DB Sanders Commings having already been suspended for the first two games of the season and fellow corner Brandan Smith facing a likely one-game ban.
