Georgia Bulldogs defensive end Derrick Lott will not be playing for Georgia in 2012 as he has decided to transfer to a new school. The red shirt junior defensive end missed the entire 2009 season after needing ankle surgery and only appeared in five total games through the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
In 2010 Lott played in only three games and made seven tackles. Four of those tackles were made against SEC rival Vanderbilt. Before the 2011 season, Lott injured his right leg in a scooter accident (yes, a scooter accident). He only played in two games this past season, making three tackles against Coastal Carolina. He is likely looking for a college where he can get on the field more often.
