The number of finalists for the next Georgia Bulldogs mascot is down to "2 or 3" according to bulldogs breeder Sonny Seiler. The next Uga is going to be announced at Picture Day, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.

"We hope to present the dog physically at the first home game," Seiler said Friday. "That's what's in the works now. Can it change? Yeah, it can change, but that's all I can tell you now ..."
... "We've got two puppies that are direct line. We're not sure which one or either (will be picked). We might have a third one, but we don't have to make a decision until August."
Uga VIII died in February 2011, only a month after being diagnosed with cancer at about 17 months old. He served as the mascot for just six games.
