The 2012 college football season keeps drawing closer. The Georgia Bulldogs will hope to make an impact this yer, but as always, they play in the tough SEC, where a conference title does not come easy. Though it's still the offseason, we have an early look at how at least one analyst views the Bulldogs in relation to the rest of the conference heading into the fall.
Will Harris at ESPN Insider has posted his preseason odds for the SEC and Big 12, among other conferences. Here is how he sees the favorites to win the title:
Alabama Crimson Tide: +220 (+145)
LSU Tigers: +225 (+145)
Georgia Bulldogs: +550 (+155)
Arkansas Razorbacks: +750 (+425)
South Carolina Gamecocks: +1100 (+240)
While LSU and Alabama remain the perennial frontrunners, Harris doesn't see the Bulldogs as being too far out of the hunt. UGA fans should feel plenty positive about their team's chances.
